Ant will supply with a labelled loom, sensors required and a map to get you running.....in other words a run from the box kit.
there are megasquirt forums to support, and obviously Ant can advise.

If you aren't an engine management expert yet, you will be soon! LOL.

Don't let me put you off though, the rewards are well worth the blood sweat and tears.

I'd go with a set up from Ant though as he has all the experience with E30's. All the info is out there if you want to search through pages of forum posts, but its a hell of a lot easier to understand when someone is explaining it to you!

I went the DIY route and bought everything myself, i've got it all assembled but as I use the car everyday it's a very daunting prospect to delve into something like this for the first time :?

TBH if I did it all again I'd buy a complete kit off ant, at least it's got a basemap to start from and you'll have his support at the end of a phone should you have difficulty.

Cheers,

I've been wondering the same thing. MS is the way forward.

I'd let Ant fit it. It doesn't take a long time if you know what you are doing. It could takes ages if you don't.
That way you can just learn how to tune and fault diagnose the car rather than all the installation procedure.

I'm assuming you've seen this link?

Toby, ignore the Bimmerjim site, the guys info is useless and He ripped a fellow zoner off to the tune of £560 for a Kit that never arrived.

As for MS, I now have a N/A demo car, will bring to Lakeside :thumb:

Well i'll recommend getting Ant involved to supply and install.

A year ago almost to the day Ant supplied and fitted MS to my car - details here:

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... 94&start=0

Well a year downstream - today - I have just come back from Ant's workshop and he has installed a new map from scratch for me after some "live" mapping - just put a new ported head on and some other minor changes which made a difference from previous set-up and idle + top end were screwed up.

Fuel and sparks are now standalone - although still have not fitted blower - will do it by end of May this year - as i am running out of excuses for being a lazy git

Getting Ant to do install made sense for me - as i have got a map which works fine and has saved me loads of hassle - you can still have a play but you got a good baseline based on your engine spec to work from and restore if you mess it all up! winkeye

Also support is first class - and he has answered numerous idiot enquiries and got my enthusiasm going again to fit the blower - only downer is when he cast his eye over some of my bodge stuff i have undertaken since he last had a look - which has shamed me to do some tidying up over the weekend.

toby - if that does not work - try and do a search :
- author = racecar
- forum = Engine Swaps / Forced Induction
you'll get about 5 topics - it is under "first n/a megasquirt install" or something like that - started by ant

me and my mate installed it our selves, you do have to be pretty good with electrics and wiring diagrams, but we coulnt get it running so i ended bringing my car to ANT to finish it.

but to be honest bring it to ant hes quite reasonable on price and he does a pukka job.
