i managed to find some pioneer dual cone's to fit, but does anyone know of higher quality gear to fit there? it is so tight on space, and with the re-trim i don't want surface mount.

I'm not having subs etc, due to doing the ring etc, so needed for luggage space.

???

nah they are good quality mate trust me. Pioneers are decent especially the dual cones. Unless you find a decent set of JBL's

yep, they did ok, but roof down on the motorway i need something louder. I was thinking if dualmag's would fit, but never got around to checking. There must be some more powerful components i can use, and just chuck the tweeters?

I like my music, but the distances and trips i want to do means the subs will never be again, and with the mods done to the car i'm not sure i want any extra weight on the rear otherwise i will be fishtailing everywhere!

i think its something like 2.1 inches. its the inner re-inforced arch that gets in the way, as its not equally that depth across the back of the speaker. The inner wing cuts across the back of the speaker, so the cone has to be very shallow.

I had all the measurements ages ago. My rear corner panels are being re-trimmed so i am not able to get any measurements. anyone else have them?

Before i took her off the road for the conversion work i had soldered all wires. It was so close, even with these budget speakers that the terminal grounded out on the inner wing! i had to insulate the terminals as they had to press against the chassis when full screwed home.
