not worth it IMHO PITA to get them fitted.

go to a decent independant tyre shop and just ask them what they're bottom line is if you pay cash and order in a decent (ie not budget brand) tyre, I always get 10%-15% off RRP.

Try www.eTyres.co.uk I've bought a set of Toyos from them cheaper than local independent suppliers. They come to your door with a fully equipped van, price includes supply/fit, valves, balancing and VAT. They also take away your old tyres.

I always buy Falken tyres now from www.falkentyres.co.uk

Next day delivery too.

I take them to a good local tyre place who charges £5 per wheel to fit and balance with a new valve.

The big boys like kwik fit etc always moan that you didn't buy the tyres from them, the smaller guys are just happy to get the fitting money.

Cheers,

I need some Eagle F1s soon

215/40/17 83Y are 102.81 GBP fitted by event-tyres....

BUT they are only 80 GBP delivered from mytyres; I have taken many rims/tyres to many different fitters (Kwikfit included) and every single one of them will fit for a max of 10 GBP cash.

So I would be paying 50 GBP more (for a fitted set of 4 tyres) from event-tyres.

No-brainer :D

It works (for me) if you walk into the fitters bay, and talk to one of the fitters.... leave them the rims/tyres - they do it in their spare time; you pop-back later and pick them up, put the cash into their hand.

I think actually the Kwik-fit in Shoreham do it quite openly; it all comes down to the common-sense of the person in charge. It's a bonus for his employees that does no harm. Everyone wins.
