Hi all just bought a 325 cab with few faults which are not back breaking
but i've been trying to get the roof down but it doesn't sit right in it's
hole so the cover can come down and cover the roof, this is all being done manually i think it's electric but not sure the guy never told me.
has anyone got some advice, thanks in advance

it's got a switch next to the rear demister switch which i'm not sureDaveD wrote:not til you find if its manual or electric...has it got a switch on the dash or a handle in the back
what it's for as it has no markings on it and there's a hand lever on
the n/s rear panel next to the speaker
if it is electric and is faulty can you operate it manually?

To start with the roof fabric has to fold properly - it folds every say 9 inches or so, concertina stylee. Make sure the rear screen is folded in half, and has no creases in the middle.
The handle in the back N/S suggests it is manual.

this is what the mechanism for a manual hood looks like

to fold down a manual roof properly is a bit of an art form.
1. open the clips
2. lift the front part of the roof
3. open the rear screen completely
4. open the rear hatch
5. close the rear screen part back to lower position
6. pull the front of the roof up and backwards ensuring the screen folds in the middle and does not crease
7. stop the opeing movement when the front roof rail is at the same height as the roof enclosure cover
8. (the trickey bit) push the front traverse roof support (the one about a foot away from the front clip rail) push it into the folds of the roof, or toward the rear of the car, it should fold back and take the fabric with it, i normally have to manually fold both sides to get it right.
9. lower the roof into the enclosure
10 close the enclosure door
All cabs i have been in contact with do not fold properly and this technique works every time, can do pics if you want

when you do the pics, have a thermometer in the background so we can see the hellish cold conditions you are taking these pictures in.....
