Stu. if my lights ever get water in them, even though the bulbs and lights covers are sealed, the ballasts are up mounted, and the bonnet closed with seals too il eat my hat; youd have to drive it through puddles like a tosser to get them wet, which you should surely avoid when driving anyway as everything will be hot and water will be cold :?

il tell you what, iv got them in the boot; il put them on tomorrow; what i dont understand is if liam says they fit, why did dan have to modify the backs?

Seriously, when your driving in rain, around the headlights is the wettest part of your E30. All those slats in the vertical grill.....
where else can it go?

sorry to elaborate:
there is a rubber grommet - i drilled a hole in the cap and fit the grommet - when i fit the cap the ar$e of the bulb pushes against the grommet and it pops out a mm or two.
i used their funky loom! seems allright fornow but i would like to wire in something a little more oem looking so will avail of fusebox then.

guys, ive just got a set of these (second hand) from a zoner, the difference in lighting is amazing.. However, small problem... when head lights go on, they flash like police headlights !! on and off 1 at a time.. to prevent this, we have dis connected the side light wire from the unit, ive got angle eyes so all i get when sidelights are on is a nice ring !!! headlights now work without any probs but my check control comes on showing dipped beam no worky.... any way round this???

They are 100 % genuine "Bosch HID" http://www.bosch-hid.com/english/index.htm

Got to love the Chinese! I think the "Made in Germany" may be less genuine though, or they have renamed a town/factory to Germany!

But they do seem very cheap and you are all still happy yes?

Yes it is illegal, but so it should be on a sh1t heap like that renault.
If they had fitted them to an E30 I can guarantee they would of passed the test.

As you can see from this picture of my beams the pattern is clearly not 'scattered'

Yes but Dan as you are passing cars on the left your lights are illuminating their cabins, which means you are dazzling them.

The only way round this is to fit a filter on the cut off sheild or fit a HID projector.

Agreed we do drive on the left, but when you are overtaking cars on motorway/country roads etc just note how much light is getting into all of the cars mirrors.

A very simple yet difficult to execute mod would solve this.
