hi guys,
due to my above average frame, im 6foot4... the e30 seats arent the most comfortable ive ever sat in.. to be honest...the rest of the car is ofcourse top notch..
anyways... ive modified bucket racing seats to fit in my pickup... so i can do that type of thing..
was just wondering.... would like to here from those that have done it..
what are the exact modifications required to fit e36 seats into an e30?
regards
Anton

Only the front seats will work

Considering Selling the Cabby, looks like its gonna go

went to look at some seats at a local bmw yard...
well.. well... i found a pair of seats from a e36 m3..one of the later models.
the front seats are quite sporty and are fully electrical.. had a look at the electrical..
shouldnt be a problem wireing em in...
would be good..
and the rear seats will also work.. there only 2 things that differ on the lower section of the seat
haven checked the top section(rear) with headrests yet..
basically the rear lower seat...
the clips are closer that with the e30.. but this can be moved relatively easily..
then.. the e36 wheelarch protrudes
into the cabin.. where with the e30 the whole wheel arch is in the boot.
there is a small section on the e36 rear seat that goes ontop of the wheel arch section inside the car...
a block of high density foam...cut into the shape of that bit.. glued onto the e36 seat will solve this problem...
but fitting e36 rear seats are really only fittable on the e30 if youre having the new e36 seats recovered, as there are some sections that one will have to fabricate with some high density foam.these sections would obviously also get covered with the new leather.
