Hello,
I just did a head rebuild on my 325i and driving it now when im off the throttle at about 1200 - 1400 rpm its got pretty bad juddering.
anyone got any suggestions?
The pipe from the cold start mechanism is a little burst but it still goes all the way in, could that be the problem?

Double check for air leaks with some brake or carb claener, the stutter coulb be leaning out , not good for engine life dude
basically go over everything you have recently replaced/removed, its very easy to overlook something M8

like ant said check for any leaks, common places are the throttle body gasket, inlet manifold gasket, not sure of the head gasket would effect this or not.
mine was doing this a while ago and i couldn't even find the leak with brake/carb cleaner, it was only when the inlet gasket went big time and blew a rather large piece out of no.6 port that i realised where it was leaking.
with the bonnet up does it sound like there is air rushing somewhere, or sound like its squeaking, simmilar to brake squeal sort of sound?
mine did, and like i said, i couldn't locate it for hell or high water untill it went properly.

I use a caravan type gas bottle and hose yo find inlet air leaks.
You can use the same thing to replace the entire fuel system when fault finding as well.

i recently done a head gasket on my 325 when i drove it their was a missfire only when driving, under the inlet manifold there is a black round multiplug which is the loom for the injectors, this had come loose and was causing the missfire ,check that its tight

Always worth checking this connector on 6 pots. If you experience is anything like mine (but lumpy leading to jerky and then very jerky at 2000 rpm) then ultimately (assuming all above is OK) it came down to the injectors. Putting fuel cleaner in gradually resolved the issue and now this goes in with every filling. The engine is completely smooth across the range. Hope this helps.

Take the air filter/AFM assembly off to gain an access. Certainly no need to touch the manifold!
