Ok, on the back of my fuel pump post can someone post me an idiots guide on how to replace the intank fuel pump, as I am leaving in 2 hours to get the pump and want to get it in tonight.

The Haynes manual is far too complicated for me, undo the 6 phillips screws, remove plate, stand up in car with sunroof open and turn round 4 times etc etc.

I am as thick as pig poo when it comes to working on cares, all I know is I must not smoke when I have my arm in the fuel tank! 8O

Would appreciate your help. Ta very muchlies

when all the pipes are disconected you will have to tap it to turn it in its housing in the tank as it has a sort of screw thread to locate it in the tank but really its a 10 minute job you will be suprised how easy it is

It won't come out the tank unless you undo the four small nuts on the top and pull out the fuel level sender first.
Beware of sparks from the interior light switches in the door posts.(Turn interior lights off).

two flat bladed screwdrivers leverd against each other and twist.
and don't loose the fuel lines between the shell and the tank.
You'll need two very small jubilee clips or the original crimps so you don't get a fuel leak when you put it back together.

I never even depressurised my system before changing the pump. 8O

Also managed to do it on the worst night of the year - bonfire night last year. Had to leave it off too as very quickly got too dark for me to see what I was doing and had taken too long trying to solder a new pump onto the old pipe housing :?
