OK, let's put this to bed.
Not only should persistant foglight users ("'cos it looks cool, innit") be fined, they should be forced at gun-point to remove the offending lights, made to hand them over to the gunman, then told to bend over for the gunman to insert them without the aid of any lubricant.

the you shouldnt have accepted the ticket if you feel you were in the right......gets you into more trouble but theres no way i would accept a dodgy ticket in my home town. different if you are miles away and dont want to be locked up.

i get along fine in the fog without front fog lights as my car doesnt come with them, people here seem to think that if they turn their fog lights on they can go faster through the fog obviously thats rediculous as you should be driving cautiously through it anyways.
but tough luck getting a fine for it, if fines went to something other than pointless speed camera funds or something of the like then maybe the majority wouldnt care,
but what also gets me is all these dam new cars (think it was mentioned already in this post) they're headlights are so bright anyway, and the police dont do thing about it.. thats what dazzles me the most

Saw the best incident in Bracknell about two years ago. Two 'yoofs' in their chavved up, Lexus light's E36 sat in stop/go traffic behind a van, foglights on, music absolutely banging out of this thing (Drum N Bass). When the van in front crawled forward a few spaces the dickhead driving the E36 would do a full on standing start then slam on the brakes. The van driver got the hump pretty quickly, climbed out of his van with a claw hammer and smashed both fog lights. He was raving mad! The E36 driver started giving him some lip but soon looked pretty sheepish when the guy went to his window and started shouting at him. The traffic has now moved, matey gets back in his van and drives off and these two lemons in the E36 slowly crawl off - music now turned down.

I'm with you on this one. It is my pet hate and it seems to be getting more common. It is uncomfortable on the eyes, especially if it has been a long day or you have sensitive eyes.
i see so many with the side lights on and fog lights.
I wish more police would issue the fixed penalty. Just think of the revenue they would bring in.

Yeah, normally blue or green sidelights and dazzling foglights. It's just as annoying to have a car with a maladjusted headlamp behind blinding you every time you look in the mirror though, but at least thet haven't done it on purpose to look "cool".
What police to issue the fixed penalty though? The only coppers you'll see on the road these days are manning a speed camera or racing somewhere with the sirens on. The only people who get caught for anything are those who tax their cars and thus get recognised by the ANPR system. If you're the kind of chav to whom an MoTis luxury goods you'll get off scot free. Moan over.

At least with computerised MOT's now, ANPR will start picking those up like no-tax.

This is a good one, I'm delivering a white van today. Joining the M56 I get hemmed in by a woman in the middle lane, she won't let me out even tho I'm indicating and the 3rd lane is free
So I barge in like you do, she moves to the 3rd lane does the same again. After a mile she pulls over.
I see here dileling her mobile and speaking to someone.
She has just rung the number on the side of my van complaining about my driving. Logging her number on her phone records and listing it on the excange of the company at the time she's driving.

Good man, you know it makes sense!

Don't know about looking good, but unless it's freezing or raining heavily mine is up too. IIRC, I've only had mine open once in 3 years though.
