On a cab it's got to be cross spokes or Alpinas.

That's it. No other wheels.

Cos I knows bestest.

Because 99% of aftremarket wheels are whack.

And as we've seen all too often this week, we must cut off molesting modders at the knees by cutting off even the merest thought of 'options'.

It's Friday, go forth and enjoin in adventure and merriment...

I was talking about what I like. What I like is non-council tasteful stuff.

To be honest, some things need to be regulated hammer & sickle style.

You can't open up important decisions like cabrio rims to the masses. There should be a select few, with me as the chair, dishing out the directives Ming style.

A wise man once said:

'We do not look to the populace, of whom most are unskilled and uneducated in such matters, rather we engage the intelligent few to better our nation...'

And it's W-H-A-C-K! Correcting someone's street-grammar is sooooo un-street...

Au contrere! Let these people make there decisons, if they bring a smile to our faces, then let them brighten our day!

WHACK is the onomatopaeic word which describes the sound of hitting someon upside the head for getting their street grammar wrong!!

It's been "wack" since the mid 80's as far as I was concerned.

I'm afraid I'm not that old. I do know that if you are truly cool and street you would have spelt it incorrectly like wot I did.

The fact that you know the correct spelling for such slang exposes your true Sloane Square dwelling roots.

I would hazard a guess that your first name is Jeremy and you were given a slang dictionary by your auntie Mildred for christmas to help you out should you stray too far off the King's Road.

Let me also give you a pointer should you find yourself out of your manor - don't wear wellingtons on the street - it's a dead giveaway.

BACK ON TOPIC:

I have added BBS Splits to the list of accepted non-factory wheels on a Cabrio. As long as they're not too deep.

I could see your point, if it wasn't for the accusation of council status on Hartges! :P But there are plenty of shocking choices that people make... However it does provide much amusement, & so I say leave them to it.

Hartge's are great on a Harge. Just can't dig 'em on a reguler E30.

They're not council tho.

Note to self - Enter into the new order that tuner wheels should only be put on tuner cars, except for Alpina's.

is reguler "street" spelling?!

Now i have a bone to pick about alpina's. I love them but why should Herman and his merry men fit them to everything going? And BK burger king racing be allowed to make 17inch monkey metal versions also. Why do Hartge rim's only be allowed onto Hartge cars? this is very wrong

It's taken the shine a little off genuine cars i think, which is a shame. They are their own victim of such an iconic wheel design and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery is my only logical answer to this problem!

None of this makes any sense.

As far as 'reguler' being spelt wrong, I'm a fast typer and a bit lazy with spell check - wasn't aware I was on bloody countdown...

Alpina's look so great that they are granted universal approval. We must give the great unwashed small peeks at what the aristocracy enjoy - though what you're doing with them I don't know...

i love it, am i truely unworthy in your eyes to own a genuine alpina c2 2.7 then?

What i said does make sense open your mind up. You clearly don't hold Hartge, Schnitzer or Racing Dynamic's alloys in the same regard, although these are the other big 3 E30 tuners?

This is only your opinion after all.

You can't preach about grammar and then spell words wrongly yourself and give an excuse of i am a fast typer. the E button is no where near A!

Just try not to take the bait and defend your point with no jibes :D

But it is near 'R'.

Back off mate I'm having a bit of a joke with the peeps about nasty wheels and you're giving me grief about spelling.

I like the work of the other guys too.

Note to self: Lobby tuners to limit numbers and sales to tightly controlled geographic areas pre-approved by me.

I see.............

but you still havn't backed up your reasons for the special treatment for pina's and why they are allowed onto normal chariots. I've stated mine!

Will have to take your word on the geography of upmarket central London...

Wearing wellies out of the manor? Talking from experience?

The deeper the dish the better!!!

So we going to see anything more than the headlights in your avatar? It's a great pic to make a car anonymous!

Which wheels are you sporting? Some proper bullet proof run flat rubber too, fro when you're working your 'hood?

Didn't most (if not all) of the aforementioned tuners, sell their wheels to anyone with the sheckles, just like any other wheel company? If so, what's wrong with fitting them? It's not like we're badging the cars up as something they're not...

Well I'm quite happy with my wheels (having gone through enough sets to get there!), so I couldn't really give a toss what anyone else thinks... But I am intrigued as to what anyone has against em!
I still have my BBS (if I ever sell the car, I'll probably keep the wheels!), but you see those every day! I don't want to be like everyone else & I've never seen another set of mine...

Aaah but that's just it isn't it! Standard factory wheels are not NOT what you see everyday!

What you see everyday is either All this lowered madness and 18" council wheels or wheels that are just wrong for the car period. Look at all the avatars on this site - not one set of BBS wheels ANYWHERE so it's FAAAAAR from boring and normal to see a clean normal car! I'm trying to uphold some factory is all.

Simon13, I had a little break to give you time to formulate something that made any sense - I see I've returned too soon.

This isn't a courtroom bud, we don't 'owe' each other explanations so just chill.:D

I think Alpinas are the bestest wheels ever, on a par with the mighty BBS 15" X Spoke.

Good on you all for sticking to yer guns even though it will be your downfall when the regs come into effect like a dark cloud inching ever closer from the horizon of truth...:D

I see 1x 316i tourer on bottletops, 1x325i on 15" BBS, 1x 318i on bottletops & 1x 316i tourer on 14"BBS every day. Yes, you see some $hit too, but at least they're trying!
