I have a very old and sorry looking 325i conv (87) I want to restore the car but donÔš't know what way to go. I would really like to put a replica m3 kit but I am told itÔš's not worth it. I like the m tec kit but think it looks a bit dated know. I have had the car for over 10 years and we have a lot of history but its been standing at my villa in the baking sun for the last three years. It looks very sad.

I am restoring the car for my own pleasure and not the resale value however I donÔš't wont to de value the car.

I am looking for ideas, should I restore to original or spice it up a bit. If I restored to original would there be a benefit in value if so what value would one expect to get if I was ever to sell the car, which is unlikely but if I am going to spend in excess of 3k to restore. I should hope it was worth it.

Also please can you advise the best places to start to get the stuff I need to restore I know of euro parts but I do need a new roof, carpet and possible a re trim as the leather is not as it once was.

Hi Majestic & welcome to the zone.

Restore AND spice it up :D

IMHO, you can spice up the cab quite nicely without affecting the resale value. In fact, you may even be improving it! Just trawl through the site (or use the search function to keep Adam happy) & you'll find lots of info on engine mods, etc. Failing that, all you have to do is ask. There's a wealth of knowledge on here that will amaze you (just too many individuals to mention).
Not sure what 325 Cabs are going for at the moment but I'm sure that a good, clean one would see Ԛ£4K.
Your biggest problem is your location, especially for the bits you mention. Could'nt you tie those changes in with a trip over here?
