Carpmart...
How do you get to the Hedgehog resistors? I'm assuming there is more than one? I thought there was one only? Unless you have split fans o/s and n/s I guess?
My mates E39 M5 has one gone.

There is only one resistor but it has gone twice on my car in the last six years!Davenotouring wrote:Carpmart...

Easy replacement but has to be sourced from main stealer!
It is accessed through the drivers foot well and is a little tricky to access but ultimately a very simple job!
You can get the hedghog resisitors from C3 too. We have done 50k (now at 80k) in our 523i and that is the only thing that has needed replacing so far. It is a great car for doing long distances in.

Mark... my old man had a 540i Touring, and it was mental! Probably not quite what you're after with the fuel economy, but still made for an extremely good all-rounder.
What are you planning to go for? 528i, 530i, 530d or a 535i?

He's already bought the part from BMW, but he's had it for about three months and not touched it!

Was going for a 530d but I am put off by the problems and my mates dad had the turbo go on his last month and had to shell out £1500 so I am going 530i I think. Fuel economy will be no worse than my Zaffy anyway.Geeman wrote:Mark... my old man had a 540i Touring, and it was mental! I have found a nice 51 plate Sport with 75k for £9k which I like the look of, may take a look next week.

That sounds like a bargain. Lots of car for the money.

Well, looked at three on Monday and they were all no good for various reasons. Got offered pretty much what I wanted for the Zaffy though which was good.
Anyone know if the 530is all have the Sport suspension like the V8s do ? Or do the 530i SEs have the normal setup ?
It's just I really wanted a Sport but they seem to be like Hen's teeth and a really nicely specced SE has popped up. Otherwise no hurry I will just have to wait.
Cheers.
