If you are goingt o drive during the day I would recommend getting an 8am ferry which will land you on France at 11am their time (2 hr crossing)
That meaning a check in time of 0700 which means you will be leaving home very early doors but no traffic. I left London at 0520 on Friday and was in Dover by 0630.

Anyone, silly question: when you book the ferry, do you have to give the names of all the people in the car?

Not sure, long time since I booked a ferry. I don't know the name of my potential passenger.Ziggy wrote:Anyone, silly question: when you book the ferry, do you have to give the names of all the people in the car?

I was thinking of putting 4 passengers just in case, then when i arrive with only 2 "yeah sorry the other two died, unfortunatly their e30 cut and shut split(at the "jacking" points) at the wrong moment down the m20"

Good point: do you have to pay extra for the people or is it just the car? It's probably gonna be 1 or 2 of 3 people, so I could just put em all!

I've turned up before with different passengers to those listed ! that was with P&O and not Norfolk Line and before the "hightened security" etc.Cotty180 wrote:Ziggy wrote:Yeah, I was planning to pick mine up in a bar the night before too...Cotty180 wrote: I don't know the name of my potential passenger.

Another question, which port are you guy's leaving from and to? What company you traveling with? Where you getting your ticket's from? Best prices i found, Speed Chills for race ticket's £48 Norfolk line ferry dover to Dunkerque £38. Trying to organise 5 mate's to come and book 2 place's with you guy's.

Speed chills £48 is pretty much face value mate. THey are ┚¬61 to buy on the 'door' so to speak and you can get them on the day so there is no need to book them in advance.
Given I'm organising a group I should be able to arrange group discount of race tickets to ┚¬55 each. Not going to do them in advance though due to fluctuations in the euro at the moment. Will look at getting a job lot on the day and am just waiting to hear from the ACO if that's possible (rather than ordering in advance)
Ferry - yup. Norfolk line cheapest.
Ginger Tim - not got your name on the list yet mate. Are you coming with us?

We not going to wait to make sure its all definatly going ahead and to check that a whole bunch of other zoners don't suddenly get their cash out, unlikely i know.
If loads do, another sailing date might be preferable to the then masses? I was thinking of booking the boat as soon as Guy has emailed us the booking conformation.
