Hi All,
Anyone know what the different colours of Bosch injectors refer to, i.e. flow rates I'm guessing?
In the process of changing the head gaskett prior to fitting turbo and thought I may as well stick some bigger injectors in whilst it's in bits.
Just need to the spec of what I've got and what to look for as an upgrade.
Cheers, Chris.
Injector colour codes.

Cheers for that, was useful.

The colours don't really mean anything, it's the part numbers that count.
Don't fit bigger injectors if you're still on the standard engine management for the time being!

Ok, got a list of the different part numbers?
Going to be using a BEGI fmu. It has a function where as you can adjust the base fuel pressure, allowing for the larger injectors whilst the engine runs off boost. A bit crude I know, but hopefully effective.
Cheers.

Eek, I know these things can be made to work, but you're unlikely ever to realise much of the potential of your system without an ECU that can read boost and apportion fueling and ignition settings appropriately.

The fmu reads boost and allows you to set the ratio that the fuel pressure increases by accordingly. It also allows you to set the point where the fuel pressure starts increasing...allthough final judgement will be reserved untill I have the thing installed and adjusted!
Anyway, it's all part of the learning process for me. If I get this working I'll maybe have a crack at it with a pukka ecu.
