i had a '51' reg Zetec S Fiesta wen i was 18 which looked standard but had loadz of work done to the engine, my mates said i was mad to get rid for a old BM that was slower but i love the RWD, although i do miss the fun of a hot hatch at times

Ended up breaking it in the end and building a MK3 Escort van using the running gear-nearly died in that :?
I would rather have the RS1600i than an E30............

I had a black 1600i, PRL888Y which came from Cornwall originally. I bought it from Witney Car Auction in May 1988 for £3800. It was a great little car with superb seats (proper Recaros) and crap brakes. Before that I had a Mark 2 Mexico - Diamond white, black vinyl roof, red striping, 7x13 four spoke Revs and a 2 litre Pinto. After the RS1600 I had a C plate XR3i and then a V12 XJS HE.

I've never given any car up for an E30. But I did give up a Sport Evo for an orange CSL E9.

Agreed mate, the 16i was a proper car,if that can be said for a FWD of the 80`s!
Handled excellently all things considered!
Only got rid of mine due to a leaky rear crank seal, and due to this the car let me down one night when i really depended on it and lost all heart in it after that, problem with it was the crank seal would leak overnight covering the gearbox sensor, this rendered it virtually undrivable for the first 10 mins or so,just didnt need it at that time

Only by chance i got an E30 after that, paid £20 for a 316 of a pikey up the road, best move i ever made!

I gave up my Love affair with Mk1 Golf GTI's for a 325i Touring and then my 318is.

Sometime think I should never have sold the Mk1, but I could never have kept her to the standard I wanted. I miss driving it though as everyday it put a smile on my face.

I sold the tourer because of fuel consumption.

The first thing I did with mine was to convert it from the twin coils back to a standard CVH distributor. Ford sold a kit back then to do this. The twin coils triggered by the crank sensor was supposedly for racing - but the racers all used distributors!

Nice Mk1 GTi MrGBE. I had a couple of these - a Y plate 1800 in black plus a 1977 R reg 1600 that I boutght for the engine to go in a GLi Cabby I was restoring.

325 BHP 460lb/ft Audi S4 Avant Imola Yellow Black Nappa Carbon Trim and Bose System MRC Remap and Miltek, Forge Diverter Valves, never got used and sat in the garage like an ornament my mam gave me her 318is which meant we now had 4 cars (2 drivers) costing a small fortune to run 4 cars so sold the Audi and now use the E30 on nice days and stuck some wedge in the bank.

Miss the Audi though but the old E30 twists some necks!! :)

Might be tempted into an E30 M3 after summer!

I gave up a 250bhp '92 Subaru Legacy RS saloon for my first e30 (dolpin grey 320is) which I then replaced with an e34 530 running on lpg then on to my current motor, 325i cabby. I miss the mind numbing acceleration of the scooby but it was forever going wrong and didn't handle particulary well, I don't think i'm going to change from BM's again. You just can't beat the build quality and reliability.

Gave up an m reg granada scorpio, fully loaded with by far the best sound system i've ever had!!!
Bought a 320 and wondered why i never bought an e30 in the first place!!!!!!! Then had a 318, then a 325!!!!

Sold the 325 to a guy i know when i bought my 850CSi!!!!! Still always regretted selling the e30, even though i had the 5.6 V12 beast!!! Just decided to buy the 325 back off him and his mate wrote it off!!!
Still always wanted one, so bought my black touring last year!!! That will soon be a monster and i'm considering selling the 8 so i can spend even more on the touring (and maybe pay a few bills!). Always wanted an E30 cabrio and still not had one yet!!
327 Touring with bass!!!

Seriously considering selling my 1996 328is in silver and use my E30 325se touring as a daily driver. Selling it to finance the track days.. The E36 has only 53,000 miles on the clock and is mint

I have a E30 325 track car (the white one in the pic) but the touring is not as comfortable as the 2 door when I first got it, seems like it has less space behind the wheel..??

I didnt actually give up my last car for an E30 - I gave it up to start motorcycling, which in turn led me into the world of E30s (for a cost reason mainly) and I am now on my second and havent looked back... :D

Before the E30....

Dips doesn't do bullshit.

second that, i was there when he paid and picked it up

people do get very envious when some ones got what they want

i was out in it many times cruising around ( as you do ) and i was very luck to be allowed to drive it a few times and un supervised .
i remember on night driving ito london up to chelsea, racing a pack of sports bikes, that was a right laugh
this car's the reason my garge at home is full of crap, it got stored from in my other garage where all my juck wask kept , the things you do for mates

any way dips, that 360 aint far away now

Went from a $hagged 2.8i capri to an A-reg 320i (henna red & chrome mmmmm) from some unscrupulous b*****d on here... :D

Was never meant to be a replacement - more something cheap & RWD to keep me going, but I seem to have seen the light... Definately miss my first capri though (& even the 2.8 in some ways!), & will doubtless have another one when they cost 10 times as much as they did then...
