downpipe problem
Moderator: martauto
guys doing my down pipe are struggling and telling me to go 2.5" instead of 3", i know fozzymonster managed it, has anyone else, anyone got any pictures. i think them problem is they just want to be able to weld a couple of elbows togther and thats it
i have just spent the last 2 days making a 3" downpipe and system for my cosworth project and was a nightmare.Get some 3" fresh air ducting and tie it in the position you want your downpipe and then fill it with expanding foam then take it off car and copy.
You have to hug the block all the way down under number 6, there is only a 4 x 3 inch gap you need to use in order to make the 30 degree bend around the steering linkage and avoiding the block/belhousing.
You can always oval a small section of the 3 inch, not too much but 1/2 inch would be fine, also the bulkhead is quite soft when tapped with a BFH
But you need the block out of the way to really get a good swing at it.
