Does rain affect fresh cavity wax?

I sprayed some cavity wax in the bottom of the passenger door and left it a few days before driving, but the rain seems to have turned the originally brown wax white. Has the water emulsified the oils in the wax, or should I just ignore? The inside door liner hasn't gone on yet so I'm wondering if I should just wipe the bottom of the door out an reapply?

I waxoyled my car about three weeks ago, when I sprayed it in it was roughly the colour of beer and three weeks later it has set to an opaque white wax colour (looks a bit like vaseline) and it has had no contact with water at all. I guess many of these products are the same so I expect its ok.

Just out of curiosity, where did you guys buy the wax from? Does it come in aerosol can?

Waxoil is great stuff, until it gets too hot... if you put too much in it can seep / run out in hot weather. In theory this is good, because it runs into all those hard to get places, but it can make a mess of your drive! Just be prepared from some seepage later.

Waxoyl is available from halfords, either as an aerosol spray or, if youre doing the whole car a big 5ltr pump spray.

Also it stinks if you use it inside...

I tried the Waxoyl kit with the pump and thought it was the greatest load of sh*te ever. I warmed the can of wax as instructed but as soon as I used the spray wand it congealed straight away in the line and got blocked, after it sprayed out onto my overalls!. Think you would need a heated spray line and use it in very warm conditions.

I use Tereson cavity wax in aerosol tins and it is very convenient. Got a 2ft long extension for spraying into hard to reach areas. The disadvantage of aerosol is that the wax is thin and you need to build up a few layers. However, aerosol is very handy to use and no mess.
