I fixed mine by resoldering the lead then using heat-shrink wrap, thus saving on expensive insulation tape.

Not exactly GS38 compliant then Mr. Moooooore?Speak for yourself! One of my meter leads is twisted together at the meter plug end (the 'live' one; concentrates the mind when measuring high voltages), and the other lead just has a bare wire at the probe end.

Most of the customers I work for have shotguns handy. Don't see much of Health and Safety around these parts!

Nah, they know I dig them out of the shite at 11.30 p.m. on a Bank Holiday week end! They generally look after me.gortour wrote: So if you don't electrocute yourself on the meter, the customer shoots you... :
Shotguns are reserved for Government Officials and car thieves. Neighbour of mine let off a couple of barrels at someone trying to walk off with his car a few years ago.
Worth keeping the right side of these people...Brianmoooore wrote:Nah, they know I dig them out of the shite at 11.30 p.m. on a Bank Holiday week end! They generally look after me.gortour wrote: So if you don't electrocute yourself on the meter, the customer shoots you... :

Shame your neighbour didn't shoot the b'stard trying to nick his car... One more piece of scum off the streets that won't steal again...

GS38 is non-statutory... just use a bit of old bell wire and a match stick...
