Lets just say I buy a mint 325 shell with a bag of spanners for a motor....if I put an m52 in there instead of an m20, are the insurers going to hike the price up, even though its still only 2.5l. Also, can you do the EASY 2.7 conversion on an m52?

thanks

How do you mean "easy" 2.7 Conversion?
Adrian Flux dont seem to mind highly modified cars neither doe HiC that other ppl on here are on. I actually got qouted more for a 325i Cab than my own car

i meant is the conversion as easy to do as it is in the m20, is it possible even?? Did the insurance company know what you meant by an m52 vs. and m20, or did you just say its a 'different' 2.5l engine?

I know the engine drops straight in, but you need a custom/or just anothe brake servo from somewhere as the engine block is too fat for the E30 one. Mine uses an E39 gearbox apparently and i dont know how they mated it up with the prop, ive heard you can use normal m20 gearboxes too...
Also the exhaust manifold needs to be a custom jobbie i think, mine is anyway.
Im not sure but i think the M52 has the EWS you need to wire in where as mine dosent.
