You can fit a windscreen in the Surrey area!
E30 windscreens must be one of the easiest I have ever removed and fitted.

Generally speaking, the larger the glass, the easier it is to fit. If you've fitted rear windows, then they are exactly the same as the front, less the problem of dealing with the demister element.
Use plenty of lubricant (not washing up liquid - contains salt) and have an assistant handy to make sure the whole thing doesn't fall onto the floor at any time.
Old glass can be removed by pulling out the locking strip, loosening up the rest of the rubber a bit to make sure it isn't stuck anywhere, then pushing out the glass with both feet on the inside of the windscreen.
There's a trick of getting the new rubber in place using a long piece of string in the slot where the car body goes, otherwise just work the glass in inch by inch.
Locking strip is the hardest bit to do, unless you have the correct tool, which can be bought for £10 or so. If you do it with a small screwdriver instead of this tool, make sure you always work inwards towards the glass, or you are likely to slip and scratch the paintwork.
