4th June it is then... Where????
And so the Zone was born.......
And look what its become! just wanna say a big thanks to the guys who started and run the zone. probaly wouldn't be doing half the things i am now if i didn't have the zone.
Am sure lots of people have nearly scraped or sold there cars after not being able to fix them or find the problem. it realy is something when you can be working on your car run in to a problem, post a question and then be back on with the job after a cup of tea
well done

Christ that seems like such a long time ago! I was playing with silly japanese vehicles then too.
Love the question "have you got broadband"
something 95% of us take for granted now.
I think a yearly zone meet would be a good idea.

Ridi is Steve, main man behind the zone, and still is, Ant is still the same Ant, and dlatch (Duncan) has funnily enough just signed back on the zone after a while away playing with Fords, only last week.

I'm not on that thread but was talking with steve on email at the time. There are a few other zone threads too on that forum if I remember correctly. I'm E30Adam on there too and still use it occasionally although barely any E30 posts nowadays. It makes me realise how far the zone's come over the last almost 4 years. I'm very proud to be a part of it.

Funilly enough, this was my original sig pic. Made it shortly after purchasing my sport which I've just checked was on 20th May 2003. That's the longest I've ever kept a car!

it was organised fine, zoners just tend not to show up once the names have been added to the listDaveD wrote:so long as its organised differently to last year when not many turned up!...d6dph wrote: So who's up for an Ace cafe day this year (as its just turned 2007)
yeh i know what you mean but i thought it was well organised and well publicised last year and a lot of people showed over the day but it seemed that a lot of the locals (Londoners) who had put their names down had conveniently something else to do or forgotten!,......or hadn't noticed it ( it was publicised for MONTHS)
...maybe it would be better as a half day event say from 3pm

For that meet at Ace, it just happened to be a nice day in the summer, and quite a few people, who had put their names down, ended up elsewhere, to enjoy the weather, like most of rest of the country did.
People either decided, or had to give in to pressure/requests from family/friends, or due to work commitments.
Considering the fact that the monthly Ace Cafe meet is the most regular meet that we, the Zoners have, it was disappointing and annoying, but the organisers could do nothing about it.
For the Ace meet, many of us never put our names down, but we are there, pretty much every month, as it is a gathering more than anything else for most of the regulars like Dips, Malcolm, Zaust, Gouki, etc. etc.
At the end of the day, it's down to the individual to make the effort.
Hopefully we will have a better turnout this time.
All suggestions/advice would be good and help to make it a better event I guess.
Organisers, take note ? Mal ? Iain ? Dips ?
