Propshaft Lengths

Hi,

im sure i have seen it before on here with the different lengths of propshafts, but i cant find it.

Is the 320i the same as the 325i manual ?

difference between a 318i m40 propshaft ??

has anyone got the measurments ?

afaik the manual M20 engines all have the same size prop.

i have a 1990 325i touring prop in the garage if you need anything measured... let me know exactly what ypu need.

If you are going from an m40 to m20 and need a prop I have one here you can have for free if you pass anytime

If your car has the Getrag 240 gearbox than you have a longer profshaft then the 325i's which use the Getrag 260 gearbox.

The length of the propshaft in cars with the Getrag 240 is 1526mm and the Getrag 260 ones have a 1489mm one.

I think most 320i cars have the Getrag 240.

As far as I can remember, from when I had a working ETK, the lengths are mentioned on there.
325 prop is different from a 320.

hi mikey,if you have any issues with props i recommend going to Propshaft Services not far from you in Bonnybridge. they made me my custom prop and if i remember correct it was only Ã‚£90

i stand corrected then! serves me right for thinking i'm right!!!

i thought the gearboxes were all the same on M20 models.

do the 320i gearboxes have integral bellhousings too?

i have one but you're not having it!!! it's connecting my M30 'box to my diff at the moment and i want it to stay there!

might be better that way and it will be ballanced

just wanted to know if i could drop my m50 in on an m40 box, with m20 2.0 propshaft........... ???
