Thing is, you can't time at trackdays, so it'd have to be hush hush. *ahem*

The iS would destroy a 325i because that's what I drive.

Simple really.

They only have two wheels, and chances are they'll crash before the day is up.

(Really sorry about that, just a joke, (touchwood) very bad of me) :-x

[quote="Theo325Kos you say that it should be a chipped 325i to go up against your (ex) remapped/chipped IS, but then again you have previously stated in this thread that a 318is will respond much better to this very modification....

The fairest way would be to do a stock 2.5 vs a stock lawnmower, same driver etc, but there are very, very few un molested E30's about, especially on here![/quote]

true, that one of the first mods most people will do ta a car, so a chipped/mapped IS against a 325i with the same thing done, similar or stock suspension and no other mods

but to put them round a track you need the same wheels and tyres, same driver

also, according to the title we are talking about a 325i, so put one up against an IS on a track is will be game over, the sport will be better due to its different suspension and ARB's

Good point Kos - there will be a fair difference between a 325i and a 325i sport, but how many standard 325's are around?

Like I said, we should just hold a meet at a Brands trackday and hopefully a few of each will turn up. I would be up for it (especially if I get some rear subframe bushes!) and I'm sure a load of others would? Dan needs to get his IS on track as well, don't seem to be many of them around.

and vice versa.that is indeed what it comes down to,which one you own.and when someone in a 325 hands the designated 318is driver their arse on a plate,as they surely will,every entry in the 'bumper book of racing excuses' will be deployed and the arguments will still rage on winkeye .i think it should be as they left the production line and in standard form as thats what the argument is,a 318is v 325i. the suggestion of letting one person drive both cars? no chance,i wouldnt trust an 'is' driver as far as i could throw one (theyre usually well balanced sorts-with a chip on each shoulder)and wouldnt trust him (or her) not to 'accidentally' write off the 325 to destroy the competition .
let the battle commence........ :D

Why can't we all get along-we all know the 325 sounds nicer but the IS is the better car so thats the end of it then? winkeye

As for you fuzzy, this is a IS vs 325 debate or as they say, an A and B conversation and you should C(osworth) your way out of it! Stirring it up with your ford clouded judgement :tongue:

(I would quite like a go in your touring though :wink: )

This might interest you Mr Fuzzy, as you might have seen in my first thread I also have a bit of a thing for Triumph Dolomites, one of he club/forum members has a Dolomite with a Cosworth YB in it, it`s knocking out 800bhp with NOS, it`s truly bonkers, here's a pic of the car.
