Not good news with the hearse this week but i think the one been gone a while been getting poping out of gear etc.
then sunday at the meet happened again but with one hell of a bang didnt think nothing of it though.
Started noticing that its harder to get over bumps slightest thing and exhaust is catching so checked while i poped up shop in work yesterday and found out both engine mounts shagged.
Engine is resting on the subfraame not good i can tell thee.
So after delibiration i decided to nurse the car to the garage aout 2 mile away from where i work. Phoned up gsf and they told me they had the mounts in stock. left it at that thinking car be back today.
How wrng was i. I get a fone call off gsf saying that they got sent E36 mounts ( this after they told me they had E30 ones in stock) and was i sure my car was an E30( slightly taking the piss now i think).
I tell them again that it is a 1988 325 touring and that its def an E30.
The guy goes the box shape one by which time im getting anouyed.
They now assure me that the correct mounts will be delived tomorrow, They betterbe becuae i be writing some letter to head office about their service.
So now bloodyu car and gsf are useless
Both engine mounts gone ouchhhh

I usually find exceptional service from GSF (Poole) and dyer service from the Dealers.....you couldn't believe how badly they messed up my order last week, long story cut short - ordered about 40 nuts/bolts altogether, only threw about 20 in the bag and gave it to my old dear (couldnt get away from work) I rang em and up and said they're still on their bloody shelf. Can't believe this, why do people keep buying cars from dealers when they KNOW the service is shite.
Oh yea a few days later I had to order some more stuff from dealers, so I went with a printout of parts and their corresponding part numbers, the guy (assistant manager!) said 'im the only one here everyone is on lunch, i cant order this now' - District Office here we go...! [/rant]
As for the mounts, harsh mate, hope nothings damaged!

Richy,
had the same prob a few weeks ago, loud bang, opened bonnet, two busted mounts. GSF had them in, picked them up, jacked engine up, removed old mounts refitted new ones, not too bad a job on the drivers side, not as much room on the passenger side, I ended up taking the arms off the block and fitting the mounts in first then the arms, made it abit easier.
Never had too many probs with the local GSF or stealers here, they're actually rather good, one guy at the GSF races e30's so he's always on the ball with parts etc.
Hope you get it sorted soon mate.
Mark.

sorry to hear this geezer
just changed mine for urethane one's from ireland engineering, didnt take to long to get here either
Try my best not to deal with the local stealers though, as the parts geezer is an arrogant twat who hates dealing with older cars, dont hve too many dealings with gsf prefer to use euro's tbh
