Oh my god, my electrics are crazy!

I've been reading about the battery drain, so I'm going to look into that.

The other night I changed my indicator stalk and when I put it all back together again, things had stopped working, it was dark, so I only noticed the dash lights.

Looked in the fusebox and 22 and 23 were both sitting there smoking! Replaced them and tried again, and nothing blew...

Strangely though, my radio has since stopped working completely, no evidence of power at all (I'm no good with a multimeter), Fuse on the back of the head unit is fine, and so is the corresponding fuse in the fusebox...

Also, the electric windows no longer work when I open the doors. They work when the ignition is on, but nothing when I open the doors!

Am fully prepared to throw the iS in the bin after the estimates I've been getting to sort it out recently. :(
...or is it?

have you checked fuse number 28 this controlls the cigarette lighter, stereo, and windows(on door pin switch). it may be this, i've had a similar problem in the past where this fuse kept blowing and cutting my windows, lighter etc off. i never did track the problem down fully, solutions only worked for a short time. at least you know it traces back to when you changed your stalk so it must be somewhere around that circuit. doubt i've helped but good luck anyway. :)

check the loom under the carpet on the passenger side - check for corrosion there - i had water leaking in and it corroded all the joints - made allsorts not work right - you can tell if its bad by the amount of green crap in the loom (i never new i had a leak till i checked the loom!)
