Hi,

Myself and a friend just got a gold 325 4 door from ebay as the donor for a rally car.

500quid with full year mot and looks pretty clean from the pics. Hopefully can source an lsd for it pretty soon and get things started :) Bargain I think.

Are the lsd's at all easy to come by? or is it a case of hens teeth! Anyone know what I'd expect to pay for one?

Hi Dave,

LSDs are not especially rare, expect to pay around £250 for one, the most common ratios are 3:91 and 3:64

Cheers,

Rich.

Where are you? LSDs aren't that hard to come by... I've got a 3.91 with a noisy input shaft bearing (hardly an issue in a rally car & it'll last years, just annoying in a road car!) if you're local / interested... winkeye

Cheers, I am interested. I'll have to check up on regs at to what ratio's are allowed. I didn't realise there was more than 1, and it has to be std.

Well, picked it up from my mate's on sunday. What a laugh. Love that engine and no turbo lag 8) sounds lovely. I'm also amazed as to how small it is, I rember driving my parents E30 a few years back after passing my test, it was a big car. It feels tiny compared to the golf I drive at work.

Lot's of little niggles but nothing serious. Looks like original mats in the footwell today when i cleaned it. Underneath the carpet is really brand new, not a mark on the interior. It's almost a shame to turn it to a rally car. A few weekends and a few hundred quid would have it in showroom condition.

I want one as a road car too now 8)

 A good 325 is sex on wheels!

Was your RB5 a WR sport or standard?

Not a WR, but certainly not standard :D

It currently lives in a garage slightly worse for wear now though. Bit of a project.

If you had turbo-lag on your RB5, there was something seriously wrong with it :D

Turbo-lag is something the original Audi Quattro had, not a modern Scooby.

If you mean 'nothing happens below 2000 RPM', then I agree :D

I think it's the large bore headers and turbo near double the size of std that cause the lag :D

Although there is something seriously wrong with it.. I drove it into a chevy suburban :(

More to the point was that the 325 cost half as much as just the turbo on that car, and is just as much fun, if not more 90% of the time! After having it 3 days that is. I don't see the novelty wearing off any time soon!

I've got both cars - each to his own, but IMHO a 325 is not 'more fun', it is 'different fun'.
