If you have nothing to hand a 525 one fits, although it must be said, everything sits about 1" to high!
I currently have one in as Scott wouldn't let me just put the busted one backing :D
I only needed it on one side though so the only tell tail is the back box which looks like it's been fitted crookedly!

I couldnt let him drive with a sheared mount could I? Rog was gonna just sit it back on and drive with it :clin:

Must admit, the e34 5 series bodge wasnt ideal, but it actually provides a mount, so is safer than the K.O'd 3 series one. lol.

It works though!

I remember when mine broke a mount and the linkage left a (very) slight dent in the bonnet. :x

I got a perfect new bonnet and had it sprayed! Gotta have a mint bonnet.

there only £6.75 each from gsf , i thought about drilling holes through mine and putting bolts right through but decided that by the time id messed about doin it i could have gone and got a new one!
caught it just in time though when i braked hard and the fan hooked onto the rad/fan shroud

Driving with broken mounts can cause the engine to move so much that the fan will touch the rad and stop and cause overheating.

You can get poly engine mounts from ireland engineering in the U.S (good luck ever hearing back from them on any enquiry) Someone has mentioned to me that they are a bit, errr, shite.

Theres a guy on here who does solid engine mounts, Spoox motorsport or something like that - they look very good - but they don't come cheap.

no interest in solids. it's a day to day car. some of my buddies in the US have the ireland engineering ones in there volvo 240 turbos' which appear to work well even with high power loads.

might just get some from GSF on the cheap.

We do solid mounts yes but we also do a slightly harder rubber compound specifically for road cars. Our mounts also have a shear off safety mechanism so even if the rubber rips or splits there is a metal reinforced centre which keeps the engine in position.

I will pop the thread to the top again if anyone is interested in these please give us a call.
