it should have a plaque if its an Alpina.. Or you can give your chassis number to one of the big 'Pina dealers n they'd tell you..

Don't surpose you have an address/phone number/ website for one of these large alpina dealers?? - I'm new to the e30's and only bought the car as the owner (friend of a friend) lost his licence and had large court costs to apy - so my knowledge is poor of these cars

Post some pics up of the car and engine bay, there are alpina numbers stamping on the block/head.
Only real way is to ring Sytners

Just check the the block and head for alpina markings, the inside of the door for the alpina sticker, the dials, the gearknob, the steering wheel etc etc etc.
Is the 6 branch still there? (remember they can rot after 16 yrs).
Sytners will ask you tto write to them now, so get a letter out to them to find out.
Pics would be nice!

It might not be a C2 2.7 but a lesser Alpina. Anyway, late C2 2.7's used a standard cast iron manifold as the tubular one gave lots of grief.
It hasn't got the Alpina plaque or instruments so it's unlikely to be a C2 2.7. The black cam cover and inlet manifold are clues though. It may well be an Alpina conversion (un-numbered) with the "Sport pack" (Cam and ECU) added to what Sytner called an Alpina E30 which was just cosmetic stuff - wheels, spoiler, steering wheel, gearknob and the boot badge. Add the LSD and sports suspension and it became a C2 2.5.

Basically cos sytners back in the day were crap at logging everything, the specs of cars varied so bloody much your car could anything, the only concrete evidence is by ring them up with your vin number
