ive the light grey 318is interior and its really grubby, any recommendations on getting the cloth/vinyl looking spanky again ? - its either this or putting the black / dark grey interior in
I used a small hadn held steam cleaner along with some aerosol upholstery cleaner with mixed results. Some stubborn stains didn't come out but fabric looked cleaner overall.
I was concerned about damaging the fabric so there are still some slight stains awaiting removal.

You can get foaming upholstery cleaner from Halfords - I used it on a grey cloth interior from a convertible that's going into my boyfriend's 2002tii and it worked a treat - it was really manky but came up nicely.
Get one that has a brush attached so you can really work it into the fabric.
Requires elbow grease - but worth it

Either get somthing like willow said, the sprays or foam with the brush attached,or the best way is to steam them. But its hard to get one really, i have one at my dads work for using on the cars and its great, but im not sure how easy they are to come by.You may be able to search about and get a small household/car type carpet cleaner/steamer, these work awesome on a nice but dirty set of seats!

the only way to do a real proper job is to remove the seats, cards and carpets from the car and then use a quality upholstery cleaner and plenty of water with a stiff brush and steam if you can find it till it all comes up sparkling. it'll be soaked by the time you finish and the carpet in particular takes some drying out - even in a good sunlight day.
it's worth it though, while your interior is out you can clean the floorpan, waxoyl the unner sills, rear quarters etc and install any dynamat/stereo cabling for the future. a weekend well spent in my book.

heh, ill wait till the weathers better and ive a week off then ill strip the lot, im thinking of stripping down to work out where a water leak is coming from too, thanks for the tips - i guess i can use a wallpaper stripper steamer too
I did quite a large post about this on the last version of the zone.
I found a Turtle Wax cleaner is halfords. Green can with a yellow brush/nozzle attachment. I scrubbed the seats, mats, carpets then rub them over with a damp cloth, dry and hoover...made mine shiny and new and the amount of muck and rubbish that came out of them was amazing. Plus I have the same interior as you... so i know what the difference can make. HTH!
