My car does this now, it's an '88 325i and only the rev counter does it.

Mine's exactly the same (1991 316i), but has always done it in the 10 years we've had it.

I remember seeing a program about this.unbelievable stuff.wasn't there something about them preferring to use second hand blocks for this also which they would leave outside to weather harden,the lads would pop outside to have a p*ss on them to help the process.i sh*t you not!

my tacho and econometer also does the little jump thingy just after switching off. its a 1991 h reg 325 sport.

my heater fan runs for 2 or 3 seconds after taking the key out, dont think its meant to happen though

M20 lump was originally used as a tractor engine so i was told

and it has 3 oil pick up's in the sump.
depending on how many 'g' s your pulling in a corner, will determine which

If the M20 was used as a tractor engine I don't wan't to know!! Although that would explain why it can take so much punishment/ big milages.
