hello people..

does anyone know how big a job it is and what is involved in replacing the sub frame bushes? any info greatly appreciated!

Not a quick and easy job and requires some patience, do a search. There's plenty of info on the site from people who have done them. :thumb:

Rear subframe needs to be removed unless you have the special tool.

I did the bushes on a touring. They had worn so much that the inner alloy bush had become detached from the rubber. Because they were detached I was able to use a hydraulic puller to pull the bush out leaving the inner alloy bush to be removed with a hammer. If you heat the bush enough the rubber of the bush sweats and forms a lubricant. I used a heat gun normally used to remove paint. There is a technical article at http://www.bmwe30.net the article gives the general method although he does remove the subframe.
