I know ill probly get bashed alot for asking this but, here goes. I have a GM small block 400 and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. i really like the lines of the e30 325, especialy when lowered witha nice set of wheels. The only reason i dont like the car is the fact that i drive a turbo vw as a daily and dont believe i would be satisfied by the much lower output of the 325. i have seen an ls1 swapped into an e36 but havent found andything along those lines on an e30. i was wondering if anyone has done anything like this or if they know where to find information on this kind of swap.

I think a company called Prism motorsport put a twin turbo (may have been single) V8 into a e30 in the mid 90's. S yes it can be done.

not sure about the chevy lump having been put in an E30 but people have put rover V8's in there, plus the BMW V8's (do a search for a thread called E30 with E39 M5 Power). Also the BMW v12 lump has also been put into an E30 and I am also aware of the Toyota/ Lexus V8 being transplanted.

American or not, its a fantastic powerplant!
I really hate all this purist don't put x engine in y car crap... Its YOUR car! Sometimes an engine's power delivery might not suit a particular chassis I spose but sod it!
American V8's are AWESOME. Powerful, sexy sounding, reliable, strong and components are SOOOOOOOO cheap. My only consession is that I'd HAVE to have fuel injection. I think Carbs belong in the past.
Sorry I can't offer any real help other than a slap on the back...
