does anyone know the torque settings for the crank sprocket on the e36 m3 3lt s50 ,the small alen key bolt that holds it in place.Do you also put thread lock on it. main bearing bolts also if poss. Is there a website were i can find all these thanks. :)

Thanks gcorky but i cannot see the crankshaft sprocket on there ,or is it just called something else, were did you get that table :o

i think you refer to the 50 mm bolt in centre?its the 4 long ones that are important ...as above

Me again!

Should there be any up and down play in the gearbox input shaft on the E36 M3 box? Just unbolted mine from the engine and there seems to be a bit of play in it!

youll often get a small amount but spigot bearing usually alleviates this.

does it look as though its been leaking?

There is a bit of old oil in there but not loads!

item 4 is easy enough to change..its the front seal behind guide tube.

is the spigot ok?


if it is id try a front seal as its cheap-n-easy....no worries.
