haa haaa so i managed to get some more thinking about it

if i do this it will at first just be in and standard

once i feel its safe and useable then we start to play with the power

so first go could be cheap i think its just when ya start wanting more power it starts to get silly

high price to pay for that sort of power,

his skyline sits at £80k, the whole car.

his supra sits at £100k the whole car.

i will try and get some photos of it some time.

i will ask how much is in the engine alone.

i know the carbon prop cost his £3500, but it will take around 2000bhp!!

the supra is geared for over 200mph!!!

my first choice for my engine conversion was a skyline twin turbo engine and was about £2500 for the engine and 6 speed box etc from Fensport. i was advised against it by a couple of 'specialists' as the electrics involved in jap engines are an absolute nightmare.this mk 3 supra engine i was told is an expensive engine to work on (£1000 for a headgasket done)so if you dont do the work yourself could become a nightmare 8O

Its been done here in NZ quite a few times, 1jz(soarer) and 2jz(supra,aristo) engine conversions into e30s.
Engine fits no prob but the exhaust manifolds get in the way of rhd cars. I thought heavily into the 2jz but ive decided on a 99 1uzfe 4.0 v8 from a soarer and im adding a supercharger

Drifty, who are you seeing about the supercharger for that 1uz lump? Neil Griffiths of Rush Imports?

A good site for forced induction on the 1uz is www.lextreme.com

12psi of boost is good for 500bhp on these soarer V8's

50psi of boost (on reworked internals) = 2700bhp :D

dont put a 7mgte its not worth it! they have many many problems. your best going for a 1jz gte strong as can handle alot of power without changing internals. or you could go sr20det like me :)

there's nowt wrong with the 7M if you torque down the head properly the original 58lb/ft was not enough and they should be torqued to 72lb/ft and toyota later revised the head gasket.

If it's all about doing it on a budget then the 7M can't be ignored, 350bhp and 400lb/ft can easily be achieved on stock gear with a MBC, lexus AFM and some 550 injectors.

I agree the 1jz will do more power but the twins are more hassle and they certainly aren't as cheap.

Have you any pics of your transplant? Are you able to retain the standard twins on standard manifold?
