you need to put a link in. There was a post about this about a month ago, have a search using the keyword function.

from memory you need to put a wire link in and it is in the socket near the glove box. Look out for a double white plug & socket (pair of plain green wires) These need to be shorted together. Sorry memoy is a bit of a haze. Not sure if some one else can confirm

Where the OBC control box was (above the ECU) there are 2 green multiplugs that were connected to the control box. Connect these 2 plugs into each other.

Those plugs are part of the OBC loom and would have been taken out with the OBC kit.Templ8e30 wrote:Where the OBC control box was (above the ECU) there are 2 green multiplugs that were connected to the control box. Connect these 2 plugs into each other.

Yep it took me a while to figure it out. It was ages ago that I learnt this from my own mistake. I think we traced it out in the end by putting a wire from the ignition to the low voltage side of the coil and she started. This proved that it was related to the OBC removal and not just another coincidence. Just worked back throguh the install by pluging in certain bits until it started. This was when we found the green wire.

e30nerd, cheers for the help, got it started easily, there is a white connector behind the glove box, with two plain green wires, what i did is cut the connector off and i was left with them 2 wire, joined them together and she started up first time, did it on a e36 316 a few weeks back with immobilizer problem, just joined the 2 green wires!
Many thanks for the help guys!

If you look around near the white socket with the two green wires, you sometimes find a matching plug with a short loop of green wire taped onto the loom nearby.
