Well the insurance assessor has agreed that my car needs a respray. I was chatting to my painter and he reckons because they are going to spray the car in an oven this time and not just a booth, the colour will defo be different (How different? No one know's) I'm just wondering if it's worth taking the opportunity to go for completly different colour now and trying to get another mag to feature her again  My mate keeps trying to talk me out of the idea, as it will mean a lot more work for him, but he's getting Ԛ£3k for his efforts and i'm in no mood to let him walk away with the money for doing hardly anything.

I was just wondering what people thought of the idea and what colour they'd recomend? I met one of the guy's from House of Kolor at Max Power London and he was so impressed with the finish of my car that he gave me his card in-case i needed any paint. I've just spoken to him and he reckons they have some really exiting colours in their range now. He's invited me up to Docaster for the Donny show on Sunday to have a look at some of them. The only down side is that it's a 400 mile round trip. He actually wanted me to come on Saturday, but i told him Saturday was the sacred "LAKESIDE MEET" so no chance, so Sunday it is then

Maybe i should be asking this question after Saturday when a few more peeps here have seen the car in the flesh.

I did think the colour at the mo is fantastic but if you can stomach the 400 mile round trip, it would be worth it just to stay pally with the paint guy. Who knows what other contacts you culd potentially make when you are there? Would it be worth it for the networking?

But 400 miles is a long way to go. Thing is with paint (as you well know) it all looks different in the flesh to on a brochure and even when its painted onto a car and dried. You need to be certain you'd get value out of the trip.

I've always been partial to that TVR purple.....

Definately go and look at what they have to offer first, take lots of pic's - maybe we can help you decide 8)

I will be going with a friend of mine who needs paint too. He's got a E36 cab with the Zeemax wide arck kit, white leather and Gucci interior being done by Jamie Shaw at Carisma, 12 tv's and enough ICE to run his own disco being launched at Max Power Live. I started going on about a nice bright purple and now he wants that colour. Even if i do stay with the same colour, it will be worth going to Doncaster cause i could end up getting a nice fat discount on whatever i eventually buy, but i am feeling that purple real bad

be careful with the house of kolor paints as they are starting to get popular. My mate runs his own specialised car mod bodyshop and is knocking out quite a few cars with house of kolor on them. Burple is quite popular apparently, I blame pimp my ride!

Go for saxo blue

Last night I had a dream it was all very weird but it started with you (Bootyman) coming round and giving me a ride in your car it was a blue-black colour your driving was wicked and then after you left the neighbour was murdered! 8O
I thought it's kind of on the subject as I dreamt your car was a different colour, it probably mean's I should seek help!

Missy30, i dont know what that was all about, but if you come to Lakeside, i will give you a ride (As long as no one gets murdered after)

Dom HOK do the best paint in the World, that's why they are becoming so popular. I'll let my mate have the purple and i'll go for something else. I will keep the original paint if worse comes to worse cause i've never seen that colour anywhere else and peeps will have difficulty copying me due to the base coat we used and the amount of Kandy. I'll see after Sunday.

If you can get it resprayed to be the close enough to the colour it is now then I'd go for it :thumb:

I don't think it'd look as good in any other colour.

Just my 2p but maybe something a tad more red? this was how it was supposed to be originally? i've seen the car twice and it's extremely rude.

It certainly looks great in it's current colour

i'd say get a flip that looks like diamond black untill you see it in the correct light/angle so it looks deep purple/blue. look pretty cool i think, especially with the lotus white leather you already have. look nice and different if you ask me

only my opinion though...go for what ever makes you the happiest

It sounds like most peopel prefer the colour it is at the moment. I'm still going to Doncster though. Never know, they might have something completly different that no one else has done yet.

Jamie my kit was on the car when i bought it, although we had to replace mose of it as it was all cracked up over the years. I also reversed into another car and cracked all the back of the car. I think there was originally 7 E30's fitted with the kit, but that was a few years ago. Over the years most of them have either been smashed or taken off the road, but i have no doubt there are still a couple still out there now, but i know none of them look like mine  .

The problem with dark colours is that you wont be able to see all the grooves and details on the kit unless you were standing right on top of the car. I did look at flips originall, but they have been raped by the Saxo boys. Not to mention around Ԛ£200 to Ԛ£250 a litre for the paint. Compare that with the Ԛ£30 a litre for the Kandy and you'll see why i went for the Kandy. We used around 13 litres of Kandy on my car and well as 5 litres of the base coat.
