M tech I rear bumper fitting - experts please!

After getting all the parts I thought I needed to fit the M Tech I kit to my car , I think i maybe using the wrong clips to hold the rear bar on.

I have all the correct M technic BMW bumpers parts (M Tech specific single peice rear plastic bumper trim) and I am using the same clips that held on the non M technic related bumper trim.

Now the people who know how the M tech rear fits on, the apron goes on the outside of the chrome bumpers and then the plastic bumper trim goes neatly over the top of that.

It was a big effort to use those same clips as there isnt as much room as before because the apron is now there.

On the ETK I can see part number 51 12 1 932 230 however I need to know if this 'Fastener' only holds the M tech apron to the chrome bumper or if it attaches to the inside of the rear plastic bumer trim, goes through the M technic apron and then into the chrome bumper where you then hold it in place with part number 51 45 1 868 108
