With reference to my purchase of 325 at auction for Ԛ£460 .
Just found 4 holes , but i think that they are common ones , 1 in each front arch where the soon to be removed mud flaps go , 1 by the filler pipe in rear arch and 1 big mutha under the battery in boot .
The whole of the flat plate with the drainage grommits in is not there !
The annoying thing is previous owner took the time to do a spot on repair job using matched paint and stonechip , but instead of welding in a plate he took it upon himself to use some kind of thick tinfoil ....Tosser ! !

I have a donor so i will cut out complete area up to where the paint starts and transfer it over , you'll never know , just happy that i got all the gear to do it cos i cant stand payin through the ass for others to do it for me , its a shame more people are not as lucky and have to go to the robbers ! ! !

I find a lot of personal satisfaction doing your own work, knowing how much money your saving.
Even if you can't weld, its always good to prep it yourself anyway,i'm sure most people are able to chop out metal and prepare the the areas that need repairing, that way you've only got to pay for a bit of welding.
Most of the money spent on repair work is the labour involved in removing panels, sanding, scraping etc.
The actual time invovled in the actual welding is often bugger all.

Valid point , its true ,prepin up does take a hell of a time compaired to doin the actual job , i find that once you have done the orrible bits the welding is staight forward 1 if not 2 skims of filler , slap on yer paint and sit back and enjoy your handy work , thats even before you start thinkin about how much cash you have just saved yourself , and its true Jesus you cant beat the feelin of " I did that " :D

ER,for me though prepping is the easy bit,my welding skills on the other hand :clin: :clin: :clin: but because of this, once I have finally achieved what I wanted (plus those several layers of filler to cover my "tidy" welding) I do as you say,sit back and think "i did that" and feel pleased about how much pennies i just saved myself.
