ok, i went to see a 1997 318ti compact in techno violet( or similar), fully loaded, sunroof, ac, leather, parking sensors, full closure... headlamp washers... twin airbags, cd, the list goes on.

however the only things worrying me are, when i done a quick search on line, the colout came up as red, not violet or burgandy as i assumed... does anyone know how to check this - Reg p654 fda.

also, other than a dodgy glove box clasp, it has 135k on it. It has stamps from bmw to 100 k and then a few other indies, however my 328i has 130 k and is fine, i just worry about the effect this sort of mileage has on a bmw 16v 4 pot?

any advise welcome.

also its advertised at £2250 and he'll take £2100 with new mot and 6 months tax (by the way hes a dealer working from his house).

seems about average price to be honest mate, my m42 is on 142k atm and still strong, the engine in there will be the later 1.9 M44 I think which I would of thought would cope just fine

the DVLA think it is red - could be a mistake, could be a respray...

the DVLA also think it was first registered on 10 10 1996 - does that match?

its a shade of red, i dont the DVLA bother too much with specifics like that regardless if its metalic/straight colour or what particular shade it is

go to your nearest dealer and they'll print off the original spec of the car and colour etc

The DVLA usually generalise, I had a Dark Aubergine Escort which came up as Purple, My E30 is Burgundy metallic, comes up as red. I think your ok with the colour thing.

Nice looking car anyway!
