Anyone know how to get a speed signal/pulse upto my Sat Nav head unit?

Do I take a feed from the one that comes from the Rear Diff to the speedo?

Or take it from the Speedo end?

Do I even have one?

318iS.

Much appreciated...

The one in me iS does. I have another for the Touting that is more accurate with a speed reading. It's 1 DIN unit that fits in the dash - I don't do all that TomTom stuck to the screen ugly shit.

Cleaned up speed signal comes out of pin 1 of the green connector on the cluster (if fitted), pin 10 of the white connector (blue/yellow wire) and pin 26 of the yellow connector (brown/red wire).

Where do I find these wires Brian?

I know roughly where the speed signal is from reading about it but I don't actually know where. :)

Where would be the best place to attack to reach the head unit?

Thank you Brian.

Blaupunkt E1 and Freestyler.

Bit primitive and slow but they work and look awesome in the dash with red lights that match the E30 dash - and they're very understated.

Blaupunkt also made the original units for the car which is a nice touch.

To be honest, I bought them because they had the most inoffensive faces out there. I would love some higher-end gear but they're all so vile I could NEVER put them in my ride...

Get a becker - they also look like they're supposed to be there rather than on Blackpool seafront! :)

Was gonna get round to asking the same question about the speed signal too - ta :thumb:
