Drain pipes were all too small!
It's from the plumbing / toilet section of Homebase! 110mm diameter I think.
Was white plastic so I just rattle canned it black!
I've read a few articles / tests that have shown the standard air box with genuine (Mahle) filter element to be the best set up for some BMW 6-cylinder engines.
I do have a flexi-pipe running from the front of the car (where the right hand fog lamp used to be) up to near the cone, and no headlamp outer rings in to try and get some cool air in.
I do plan making a crude cold air box and then when I eventually get the engine sorted out properly (that's another story that I've got a topic running on) and get it on a rolling road I want to do a quick swap and compare the two filters.
We shall see!
