I've bought a 03/1988 316 M10 , its a facelifted body. UK spec.
The car didn't come with air-conditiong. Only fitted with heater.
may i know can i use the heater coil as a evaporator & connect the air cond high & low pressure on the heater coil then add another expansion valve between that ??
other wise have to remove the whole air cond housing & re do it.
Anyone have better idea how to retrofit air cond system on it ?
what wiring should i get or issit ready inside just for plug n play ??
thanks alot.
Air cond retrofit ?

you will have to fit a aircon heater box i think they are totaly different. my bro had a leaking heater core and it was further back in the box then the normal box. the heater cores in the aircon boxes are much easier to get out, all you have to do is remove the centre console and you can get it out in the passenger footwell. When i tried getting a non aircon one out it hit the hinge for the brake servo and looked like you would have to move the box back to et it out. I dont think you will be able to use the heater core for air con

Don't forget a second aircon radiator that squeezes infront of the main radiator.
