Can anyone sugest any reasonably cheapish way to get some more power out a 325i?

From what I've heard they are not the easiest engines to get some extra go from. The car is a track day car & being done on a limited budget so don't want to spend big Ԛ£s

What has worked for you guys?

put the car on a crash diet, cheapest way to extra go is loose the flab IMHO.

you could add a chip ( the zone does their own range) and a bigger bore throttle body to gain some response and much needed extra shove throughout the rev range.

I'd leave the exhaust as std

chips is Ԛ£55, BBTB is Ԛ£120 exchange, both available ex stock so let us know when the time comes M8

useless fact time: I went to East surrey tech @ gatton point so I'm no stranger to your area

Hi Ant,

Thanks for the quick reply mate!

The car has already been on a strict diet, have already removed 100kg's with hopefully a bit more to come off......... :)

The chip sounds like a very good idea, does it improve driveabilty as well as power?

I know East Surrey Tech too,did some exams there years ago (I'm in the motor trade) Before I moved to Redhill.

Glad someone else knows my area!

yeah, its all about drivability dude, I have done loads of them for various forum members, some want top end, others more midrange grunt etc etc.

For me the original Zone 1 chip is the best all rounder, sure others can claim more outright power but its all about the area under the curve.

for the sake of being non biased I must state( BBC mode enabled) there are other chipping companies out there ( BBC mode disabled ) however none will plough your Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ into the site were all currently enjoying.

End of Plug

Yeah, I'm interested too, probably in the zone 1 chip.Is it something I can fit myself? What sort of power gains can I expect? :)

Thanks for the info Ant,much appreciated mate.
