Only ancient 320s have a "cold start". What age is your engine?
When you start an E30, you shouldn't touch the throttle. Just turn the key and leave it all to the computer.

bung in a bottle of redex or equivalent on half a tank of fuel, also replace ur fuel filter. u could try runninig it on super unleaded and see if that helps ur throttle response, tesco super is 99 octane whereas most other garages's super unleaded is only 97 octane.

Putting in anything over 95 octane fuel is a total waste of money. No advantage at all!
There's also no point in putting a zone chip in an engine that isn't running properly. Sort the basics before you try the advanced stuff.
Check out the throttle position switch with a meter for correct operation, check the resistance of the engine ECU temperature sensor at various temperatures, check the sparkplugs for condition and colour, check the air meter to throttle body hose, check the valve clearances and cam condition, check the air filter, etc., etc.
