Its been a long wait, my car has been in the panel shop for over 6 weeks getting some dents and the damage on the bonnet fixed. The whole car has more or less been resprayed.

Recently I was lucky enough to find a complete M tech I kit (very rare in Australia, cost me $1200 AUD / 440 Pound). I have had the front and rear bars painted and the sideskirts are currently at a plastic welders being modified so they can fit on a convertible E30. They should be on soon.

A massive thanks goes to Ian332isport for sending me all brand new front and rear bumper trims, plastics, clips - everything thats needed. He really did go out of his way to get it all to me in very quick time as well. Even organised a replacement for a duplicate part (BMW dealer stuff up).

I picked up the car on Thursday with all the panel/paint work done but not the bars fitted. So i've spent the last 2 nights carefully fitting them. Its a major PITA! I had to be careful as I had the chrome bumpers sprayed sapphire black as well.

These pics were taken just after I got the front bar on the car tonight. The car is still filthy from all the dust and crap that you get from a panel shop. Its getting detailed within the next week and then a new interior will be fitted.

Overall, its looks pretty damn cool :D Cant wait till the side skirts are on. Oh yeah, need some decent exhaust tips now!

The front and rear M tech I bumpers go over the outside of the chrome bumpers and then you have the plastic parts with the clips to keep everything together.

There are M tech I specific plastic bumper parts to buy. I guess you could try to fit the bumpers and use the same plastic bits you already have but it might not look so clean.

I wanted new ones anyway as the Australian sun takes its toll after 15+ yrs

If you try fitting them on the car they just wont go. The sills on an E30 coupe/sedan are a sharper angle going under the car. So you need to trim some plastic off the lower edge of it and then weld on some plastic on the skirt corners.

Once you try and fit a skirt on a Cab youll see what needs doing. Its not a huge amount of work but there's no way they will go on without being modified.

Nice car mate... You're right, Mtec 1's are very rare over here in Australia, particulary on a cab. I live in Adelaide SA and have maybe only seen 2 or 3 over here. The kit really transforms for car, especially the rear... How did you go having those chrome bumpers painted? What is the process on having them done? Neat car mate well done...
