Hello! :)

Can anyone tell me where the sunroof drains are supposed to exit?

The whole inside of Brown's damp, and the carpet around the accelerator pedal and behind the hard wearing bit of the carpet in the drivers side foot well is sodden!

Tried pouring water directly down the drains (which look to be rust free and in good nick at the top) and you could hear it sloshing down some pipe or other before exiting through the cill at roughly the same position along the length of the car as the wettest bit of carpet.

Sorry for the essay, but now it's winter all the moisture just evaporates and sticks to the windows....I've even resorted to taking the back seats out as they were all soggy :(

Cheers!

normally water from the forward sunroof drainholes exits from a tiny gap in the join between body panel and floorpan.

Check that the water is really coming out of that hole. If not the tube from the sunroof drain may have become dislodged by a previous owner poking around or even the use of compressed air . The water will syill drain away but not to the correct area

Definitely also check the elephant trunk that drains the scuttle area below the windscreen. If that trunk is blocked, water will come in behind the bulkhead and wet the carpets. Do a search on 'elephant' in the Tech Help forum.

Well, just wrestled the carpet out of the car. Seems they built the whole car around that forkin' carpet!

It's absolutely saturated!

No idea how much a dry carpet would weigh, but mine's tipping the scales at 15kg! :o

Be interesting to see what that goes down to when it's dry.

mate ive got water coming in at the back of the fusebox, not underneath, as the bulkhead comes down it meets some flat metal[behind fusebox ]and there is a slim gap which water comes down into the car, top left hand corner behind glove box as viewed from inside of car, im not sure how to fill this gap as it well ackward to get at,also that part of bulkhead did have some rubber on it but its perished, any ideas

Get someone to spray water all over the car when you've removed the carpet and see where it comes in.
Talcum powder can be sprayed around as well, to leave tell tale streaks from where water comes in.
An E30 carpet will hold gallons of water !
Front sunroof drains just empty into the cill, and the water then finds it's way out through the slots in the cill. Rear drain tubes connect to the vents in the boot which are behind the side pieces of the bumper.
