Hello all my fellow e30 Heads,
I have a 1989 Touring 325i.
I bought a 325i sport LSD two years ago and it is still sitting on the garage floor.
I was unsure what I was going to do about my old bomb but now I have decided to take the plung and restore her.
I think the diff I bought is a 3.6 lsd and I cant remember what mine is!
Anyhow, I would like to ask this question:

When I start to swap the diff out are there any other parts I should buy B4 I start?
Mountings etc.
All I have at the mo is the doner diff, I dont want to get stuck mid way and find I have to order other parts to finnish the job.

ps: What can I expect from the new lsd diff compaired to my old one in terms of handling ect?

All replys greatly appriciated.

Cheers.

Diff should fit straight in with no problems or new parts needed, other than you're supposed to use new nuts on the prop. You should also officially reset the prop length and preload the centre bearing.
Won't do anything for handling as such. What it will do is give you traction, especially when applying power in corners, which, given sufficient power (or insufficient grip underfoot), will enable power induced oversteer, otherwise known as booting the arse out.

Thanks Bri,
The hardest part is going to be having to do it on axle stands!

Axle stands scare me. Put your wheels underneath too!
