check the drain pipe that comes from the sunroof
also rear light seals and bootlid seal
also have this prob in mine but have notice a wet line on the boot trim around the boot hinge bit so could also be from up there somewhere
sorry not more use

this in your tourer ??
rear light seals are a usual suspect, if its a saloon boot lid rubber and aerial can leak water as well

Tourer can leak through the fixing holes for the "shark fin" pieces behind the rear side windows.
Water leaking through any holes in the wheel arches will also end up in the side wells.

i had the same prob mate, pull up the rubber boot seal and have a look,Normaly when i parked facing downhill the rainwater would sit in the boot drain channel & as mine had a small spot of rust under it that let the water trickle down into the jack compartment. (Dab of silicone will do the job until you can sort it out)

my old 320 was the same and tried all of above but unfortunately didnt cure the leak...after more dismatling i found a small rust patch on the rear panel directly above the jack well and very well hidden by internal black boot lining and the rear bumper! some sealer and a patch of metal cured that one!

There's no drain holes as standard in an E30. Where two panels are joined art the bottom front of the well, one has a ridge formed in it, but this is normally all well incased in sealant.Avner wrote:Regardless of the leak's source, there should be some drain holes in the jack compartment's floor. They are probably clogged ant it 's a good idea to clean them out.
One of my recently aquired tourings had stood for over two years in the open with the rear hatch partly open and the side pockets completely full of water. Once dried out you couldn't tell anything had even ever been damp!
