Hello guys,
bit of a newb on the engine side of things when it comes to m20's.
just bought a 320i convertible auto.
sounds lovely but would like a little more power out of it and dont want to do a complete engine change.
what do you guys suggest and how many bhp are we talking.

325i Throttle body and zone chip seem to be the best way to get a few more horses out.
But you will find the majority of people have given up tuning the 2.0ltr and either bolted in a 2.5 or fitted a ETA bottom end to the 2.0ltr head.
Other than that a cossie T3 would work extremely well on the 320i!

what does the eta bottom end do and what do you need to fit it/do the conversion?

ETA bottom end is just a crankshaft which gives a longer stoke, increaseing the displacement to 2.7 litres.
To fit it you will need to remove your engine and gearbox use your current 320i head on the eta bottom end, I would imagine you would need 325i injectors at the very least, and would benefit from uprating alot of bits currently on the 320i such as diff, rear brakes, front struts etc etc.
Easier route for power on a 320i is a 325i inlet manifold and throttle body, well documented increase in BHP on the cheap. I have both parts for sale if interested...
