After removing the air intake from throttle body so i could change the O ring rubber seal from that tube that goes from the block to the inlet manifold. I put everything back on and gues what? Yep, as cars on boost, im hearing a loud whistle noise from under bonnet, sounds like the whistleing kettle on boost... WTF is that about??? any ideas? pipe off from intake ! pipe back on ! = whistle?? :x

Sounds like a boost leak somewhere to me, turbo spinning up and leaking from somewhere, creating a high pitched whistle. Maybe somewhere to look at first, to rule it out anyway.

yeah, any pipes from the turbo to the throttle body. So i'm guessing:

Pipe-from turbo compressor outlet, to intercooler inlet
Pipe-intercooler outlet to throttle body
Dump valve T piece.

From what i can remember you don't have the crappy rubber boot that is standard on an m20 engine, so thats one less thing to look for, as they blow out quite easily.

Yeah, thats the only bugger along with a tiny water leak from thermo housing, i changed one side of the cover as the ridges on the connection pipe were no longer ridged, that sealed 1 little leak, now ive got another from the other side that connects onto the block...
